Free Cone Day At Dairy Queen Ushers In Spring Season In Ellicott City

Dairy Queen will be offering a small vanilla cone on Free Cone Day March 19 to kick off the spring season at participating locations.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Kick off spring with Free Cone Day on March 19 at Dairy Queen.

The iconic global ice cream hotspot hosts the annual event by offering a free small vanilla cone on March 19 to usher in the spring season, which officially begins March 20.

Last year, DQ locations gave away five million free cones and since the tradition began in 2015, more than 38 million free cones have been enjoyed by ice cream lovers nationwide.

“Free Cone Day is all about celebrating the simple joys – warmer weather, a classic vanilla cone and the happiness that comes from sharing a smile,” said Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing at ADQ. “There’s something truly special about seeing people light up over a free cone, and this year, we’re excited to give away more cones and create more happy moments for our fans than ever before.”

The free small vanilla cone offer is limited to one per person while supplies last. U.S. mall locations require a purchase and the offer isn't valid on delivery or mobile orders, the company stated. DQ Rewards members earn two times their DQ points, the company stated.

While Dairy Queen doesn't have any locations still open in Howard County, according to the company's location finder, there are more than two dozen spots in the state that could be worth a road trip to for a free ice cream cone March 19. Find nearby locations here.
