Free Vaccine Clinics Sept. 21 For HCPSS Students
Even though the school year is beginning virtual, all students must be up-to-date on their vaccinations, according to the school district.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Students are required to be immunized even if school is virtual, according to the Howard County Public School System. So to help out parents this fall, vaccination clinics will be held outdoors the week of Sept. 21 at no cost to families.
Parents or guardians must complete an online consent form prior to an appointment. Howard County Public School System students can stop by a clinic at any of the following locations:
- Bushy Park Elementary School
- Cradlerock Elementary School
- Deep Run Elementary School
- Ducketts Lane Elementary School
- Hollifield Station Elementary School
- Howard High School
- Laurel Woods Elementary School
- Longfellow Elementary School
- Oakland Mills Middle School
Clinics will utilize a virtual queue, so families can stay in their cars or socially distance themselves until they are notified via text message that it is time for their appointment.
Immunization requirements can be found online. Parents or guardians can access the state registry of vaccinations at md.myir.net to view their child’s vaccine records. They can also contact their school nurse or pediatrician for that information.
