HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The Youth Engagement Programming (YEP!) grants were unveiled during a recently held rally at the People Tree in Columbia. These grants promote youth activities and engagement in Howard County through free, accessible and supportive programming developed by nonprofit and community organizations.

"I remain committed to working alongside our young people to create a safe community where everyone is welcomed, supported and encouraged to be their best self. As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, young people in Howard County need greater access to safe and engaging environments where they can recreate and interact with each other in a positive way. The YEP! program will provide new opportunities for youth to participate in activities and programs outside of school hours," said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball.

Grants will be awarded for a period of 18 months and the average award will range from $10,000 to $50,000.
