Hanukkah Celebrations Across Howard County Start Dec. 18

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Chanukah is the Jewish eight-day wintertime “festival of lights” celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting, special prayers and fried foods.

Join family, friends and others at the lighting of the first candle at the Second Annual Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m. on Main Street in Ellicott City. There will be a special musical program featuring mascots, human dreidels and The Howling Dog Klezmer Band, along with kosher donuts, latkes, menorah kits and Chanukah gifts. The event is hosted by Chabad of Ellicott City.
