The new storm will bring widespread snow, especially Friday morning. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected in portions of central and southern Maryland on Friday. Residents should plan on slippery road conditions that will affect the morning commute, the NWS said.

The Arctic air coming in behind the storm over the weekend will likely deliver the lowest temperatures of the winter so far in the mid-Atlantic region, AccuWeather said.
