HCPSS Makes Weather Call For Friday, March 1
The Howard County Public School System made a modification to the schedule for Friday.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The Howard County Public School System will open late on Friday, March 1. Officials from HCPSS made the call on Friday morning.
All public schools and school offices will open two hours late on Friday, according to the announcement.
Morning prekindergarten and morning RECC programs are canceled, officials said.

Buses will operate on a two-hour delay, and all morning child care programs sponsored by the Columbia Association and Department of Recreation & Parks in HCPSS will be delayed two hours.
Howard County is under a winter weather advisory until 10 a.m. Friday calling for 2 to 4 inches of snow.

By 5 a.m., about 2.5 inches of snow had fallen in Ellicott City, according to preliminary data submitted to the National Weather Service.
HCPSS said there would be a reevaluation by 7:30 a.m. on Friday.
