HCPSS Seeks New Members For Policy Advisory Committees
The deadline for submissions is Sept. 1.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The Howard County Public School System encourages residents to take an active role in developing and revising school system policies as members of policy advisory committees. HCPSS currently is seeking candidates for membership on the following 2020-2021 policy advisory committees:
- Policy 6010 School Attendance Areas
- Policy 9260 Student Search and Seizure
Each committee will include one member representing the general resident stakeholder group. The committees will meet virtually beginning in late September to discuss and make recommendations for the policies. The selected participants will be contacted by Sept. 9 with tentative committee meeting dates.
The knowledge, experience and perspective shared by community stakeholders are used to improve the policy revision process and ensure transparency at every stage of the committee's work. All current HCPSS policies can be viewed online.
