All HoCo Centers Now Closed, HCPSS Meals Available
Three Howard County community centers were open for charging devices but have closed, while three HCPSS meal sites are closed.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — While all Howard County Recreation and Parks camps, programs, parks and facilities are closed Tuesday due to Tropical Storm Isaias, some community centers initially were open in the morning for those who were without power and needed to charge an electronic device. Face coverings and physical distancing were required.
The centers that were open but have since been ordered closed by the county are:
- Gary J. Arthur (2400 MD-97, Cooksville)
- North Laurel (9411 Whiskey Bottom Road, Laurel)
- Roger Carter (3000 Milltowne Drive, Ellicott City)
The Alpha Ridge Landfill also is open, but residents are strongly encouraged to avoid unnecessary trips at this time, the county stated.

Also, meals served at Howard County Public School System schools still will be available Tuesday, but the following meal sites are closed:
- Bethel Christian Academy
- Long Reach Village Center
- North Laurel Community Center
All Howard County Library System branches are closed Tuesday.

The Howard County Health Department has canceled all of its appointments for Tuesday. Individuals with appointments will be contacted to reschedule them.
All parking restrictions along Main Street in Historic Ellicott City have been lifted.
