Outstanding Elementary School Assistant Principal Of The Year Goes To HoCo Teacher

A longtime educator with HCPSS has been named Maryland's Outstanding Elementary School Assistant Principal of the Year.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The Maryland Association of Elementary School Principals has named Heather Moraff, current principal of Hammond Elementary School, the Outstanding Elementary School Assistant Principal of the Year.

Moraff has served as assistant principal at Triadelphia Ridge Elementary School since 2015 and is in her 18th year as an educator with Howard County Public Schools. Moraff is a member of the Asian American Educators of Howard County, a mentor to new assistant principals, a past appointed member of the Equity Advisory Committee and a recent consultant to the Next Level Maryland Leadership Academy Assistant Principal cohort.

On June 27, the Maryland State Board of Education and State Superintendent of Schools, Mohammed Choudhury, recognized her with a State Board of Education Citation.
