Explosion In Woodbine Caused $300K In Damage: Howard County Fire
Firefighters were called to a home in Howard County overnight, where officials said an explosion occurred soon after they arrived.

WOODBINE , MD — A gas leak in Woodbine was followed by an explosion and fire Friday night, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported. There was about $300,000 in damage as a result of the incident, officials said.
Crews were dispatched before midnight to the 15000 block of Bushy Park Road, where the homeowner had reported a gas leak inside the residence.
Two adults, three children and the family dog had evacuated, officials said.

Soon after firefighters arrived, there was an explosion at the house, and officials requested assistance from Carroll County and additional crews from Howard County.
They quickly controlled the fire, and the fire marshal is investigating the origin and cause of the blaze.

Nobody was injured in the blaze, and the family arranged for accommodations so did not require Red Cross assistance, authorities reported.
