How Many Howard County Residents Have Been Vaccinated: April 27

More than 51% of HoCo's population has received their first COVID-19 dose as of April 27, according to the Howard County Health Department.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — As of April 27, 167,222 (51.3 percent) Howard County residents have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 121,547 people (37.3 percent) have been fully vaccinated. There have been 18,835 total coronavirus cases so far as of April 27 and there are 9,614 active cases.

"We are making progress and flattened the curve this past week. Our average positivity rate is

3.8 percent and our new case rate is 13.29 per 100,000 ... We are still not out of the woods yet and we must continue to wear facial coverings, physically distance, avoid large gatherings and get tested when exposed or develop symptoms until everyone is vaccinated," Howard County Health Officer Maura Rossman said.

Vaccine supply in Maryland is increasing and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was reauthorized last week. This week, the Howard County Health Department received 2,500 doses of Moderna vaccine and will be partnering with Safeway to vaccinate younger residents 18 and older.

The following clinics are open to anyone age 18 or older. Appointments are recommended. Walk-up vaccine appointments available while supply lasts.
