Howard County Arts Council Adds Second Deadline for Re-Create: Ellicott City Artist Relief Fund Applications
The deadline to apply for a Re-Create grant is March 1, 2017.

The Howard County Arts Council is accepting a second round of applications for the Re-Create: Ellicott City Artist Relief Fund, which was established to assist artists and non-profit arts and cultural organizations affected by the July 30, 2016 flash flood in Historic Ellicott City. The next deadline for applications March 1, 2017.
In order to strengthen and help rebuild the once-vibrant arts district in Historic Ellicott City, eligibility requirements for relief funds have been expanded to provide mini-grants of up to $750 to for-profit galleries and other arts-focused businesses located in the disaster zone that were affected. Re-Create will also continue to provide relief funds to individual artists and non-profit arts and cultural organizations. Recipients who have already received Re-Create grants are not eligible for further funding.
Re-Create: Ellicott City Artist Relief Fund was established in August 2016. Thirty-two artists were awarded Re-Create grants in December 2016. Major contributions to the fund came from Mary and Earl Armiger, leaders in the county’s philanthropic community, and the Maryland State Arts Council. To date, over 100 donors have made contributions to support the fund.
