Howard County Public School System Makes Weather Decision For Jan. 4

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The Howard County Public School System has entered Code Orange for Tuesday, Jan. 4, and all schools are closed including the Digital Education Center. Offices are opening late, with liberal leave in effect.

All evening activities involving HCPSS students and staff are canceled for Tuesday night. All community-sponsored programs in HCPSS buildings are canceled and HCPSS staff COVID-19 testing sites are closed.

In Howard County, the following snowfall totals were reported this afternoon:

• Savage — 6.9 inches (1:15 p.m.)
• Columbia — 6.5 inches (12 p.m.)
• Elkridge — 6.3 inches (12:45 p.m.)
• Columbia — 4.5 inches (12:30 p.m.)
• Ellicott City — 3 inches (12:50 p.m.)
