Howard County Waives Residential Wood Waste Fees After Storms

The fee waiver is in effect through Wednesday, July 15, for residents using the landfill's Wood Waste Area.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Howard County has temporarily waived residential tipping fees for wood waste disposal at Alpha Ridge Landfill following recent storms that generated large amounts of tree debris.

The fee waiver is in effect through Wednesday, July 15, for residents using the landfill's Wood Waste Area.

The site accepts brush, yard trimmings, grass, leaves, wood chips and barn cleanings. It is open to residents Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The county said the waiver applies only to residential customers. Fees for commercially hauled wood waste remain in effect. Commercial customers can use the Wood Waste Area Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
