HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Multiple lanes on the northbound I-95 bridge spanning the Patapsco River in the Elkridge area of Baltimore and Howard counties will be closed starting at 10 p.m. Monday.
Crews need to repair damaged joints on the bridge. The repairs will take two nights to complete with crews working 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. Starting at 10 p.m. Monday, crews will close two right lanes on the northbound section of the bridge, then a third lane will close at midnight, leaving one lane open to traffic. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will use electronic signs, barrels and cones to alert drivers about the lane closures.
MDOT SHA suggests drivers planning to travel through this area in the overnight consider using MD 295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway), US 1 (Washington Boulevard) or US 29 (Columbia Pike) as alternate routes during the work period.
