Lane Closures Planned For Project Spanning 2 Towns

Drivers should be aware of an anticipated lane closure required for water distribution main loops to be installed in Columbia and Jessup.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Lane closures are anticipated as crews will be installing water distribution main loops in Jessup and Columbia starting May 18.

The project will last until late February 2027.

Mission Road in Jessup and Samuel Morse Drive, as well as the Columbia Gateway Corporate Center, in Columbia will be impacted by the project that requires the installation of approximately 3,900 linear feet of 6-, 8-, 12- and 14-inch water distribution main loops.

Signs will be posted to let drivers know about the construction project and flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic through the work zone due to expected lane closures along Samuel Morris Drive weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
