Lanes Temporarily Closed During Construction Project In Columbia

A project to conceal an exposed public sewer pipe will require temporary lane closures in Columbia through late April.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A project to stabilize an exposed public sewer at a stream crossing located in a wooded area off Broken Land Parkway in Columbia will require the temporary reduction of traffic lanes.

For the project, the existing sewer pipe will be replaced with ductile iron pipe and the river will be restored to its natural channel to protect the pipe. Weather permitting, the project should be completed by late April.

During construction hours weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., southbound Broken Land Parkway will be temporarily reduced to two lanes just south of Cradlerock Way to allow construction vehicles access to the job site. Arrow boards and signs will be posted near the project area to advise drivers and pedestrians of the project and corresponding lane closure and shift.
