Laurel Man Killed When His Car Crashes Into Howard County Ambulance: Police
A Laurel man was killed when the car he was driving crashed into a Howard County ambulance that was sitting still, police say.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A 36-year-old Laurel man has died after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services ambulance that was stopped with its rear yellow warning lights activated in the right turn lane headed onto Country Meadows Lane.
At approximately 10:57 p.m., a 2011 Hyundai Sonata was traveling south on Washington Boulevard when the driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai, Ricardo Perez, crashed into the ambulance. Perez was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.
Two HCDFRS personnel in the ambulance were taken to Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
