Series Hosted By Social Justice And Transformation Commission In Howard County
Register to attend a free Lenten series by the Social Justice and Transformation Commission this month at St. John's Episcopal Church.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A free series hosted by the Social Justice and Transformation Commission will be held March 8, March 15 and March 22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, All Saints Hall in St. John’s Parish Day School, 9120 Frederick Road in Ellicott City.
March 8 - An Evening with James N. Purcell, Jr.
Jim Purcell supervised programs and operations that reached millions of refugees, migrants and
displaced persons, including the U.S. Bureau for Refugee Programs. He recently completed a book
about U.S. refugee and migration history, policy and achievements.
March 15 - Join us for a viewing of Seeking Asylum
Seeking Asylum is a just released feature documentary that bears witness to the endless deterrents
migrants face when petitioning for asylum in the United States. In a dismantled system that has been designed for failure, the film follows one woman’s journey as she searches for protection for her and kids. (www.seekingasylumfilm.com)
