Mall Plaza Expansion Officially Opens
The 70,000 square foot open-air expansion at The Mall is Columbia is the most recent redevelopment activity in Downtown Columbia.
The Mall in Columbia’s new plaza expansion attracted a crowd to its official opening. The 70,000 square foot open-air expansion has 12 new tenants – including four restaurants – and features playful sculpture on a streetscape plaza. The opening included remarks by Senior General Manager Ashley Venable and local elected officials. Participating community groups included the Howard County Chamber of Commerce, the Community Foundation of Howard County and the Downtown Columbia Partnership. The opening of the Mall’s expansion is the most recent of Downtown Columbia’s redevelopment activities. Photos by Dylan Singleton
