Man Behind Fake Bomb Outside HoCo Jewelry Store Arrested: Police

The Florida man police say left a fake bomb outside a Howard County jewelry store has been arrested and faces several charges.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Police have arrested a 35-year-old Naples, Fla., man who now faces armed robbery, robbery and other charges after he placed a package outside the front door of Sergio's Fine Jewelers in Ellicott City Oct. 1. The incident was captured on surveillance video.

Howard County police later determined the package to be a fake explosive device with a note demanding jewelry and cash. No one was injured in the incident.

Police originally offered a $1,500 reward to help identify Floyd Stuck in the case.
