Man Fatally Hit On Ridge Road: Howard County Police

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A Mount Airy man was fatally hit Tuesday night along Ridge Road.

According to the Howard County Police Department, at approximately 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound in the 1000 block of Ridge Road (Route 27) when it hit a man crossing the road from the northbound shoulder, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Alex Fernandez of Mount Airy was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and sole occupant of the Chevy remained at the scene and was not injured.

Ridge Road was closed for approximately five hours.
