Missing Ellicott City Man Has Been Found: Police

The Howard County Police Department said a missing 80-year-old man has been located.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — An 80-year-old Ellicott City man who disappeared Tuesday afternoon has been located, the Howard County Police Department reported Tuesday night.

Tie Qui Lin, 80, has been located unharmed, police said in a statement before 10 p.m.

Police issued a lookout for the man before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

PREVIOUS REPORT — Police have asked for help locating a missing Ellicott City man. He only speaks Cantonese, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Tie Qui Lin, 80, was last seen in the 9900 block of Frederick Road around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, police said.

Relatives became concerned when he came did not return home, and they contacted police.

Lin is described as an Asian man who is 5-feet-4-inches tall and 140 pounds with white hair and brown eyes. When last seen, police said he was wearing a black jacket with dark gray pants and carrying a white shoulder bag.

Anyone who may have seen Lin is asked to call 911. Police asked residents to check their home surveillance systems in case there are signs of him.
