Man Shot In Van While Driving Down I-95 Has Been Identified: Police

State troopers have identified the man found shot in a cargo van along I-95 in Howard County.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The man found shot in a cargo van along I-95 in Howard County has been identified as Charles Harrison Marks IV, 42, of Pasadena. State troopers found the man while responding to a crash that occurred in Elkridge Sunday afternoon. The man was taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment, according to the police, where he continues to receive treatment for his injuries.

Troopers had responded to a single-vehicle crash that was headed northbound on I-95 in the area of Maryland Route 100 in Elkridge when they found a white cargo van stopped in the median. When checking on the vehicle, they found Marks IV shot, the police disclosed in a report.

Marks was the driver and only occupant of the white cargo van. Police believe while he was traveling northbound on I-95 in the area of Route 100 in Elkridge at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, he was shot through the driver’s side window. Police believe the driver’s side window was open at the time of the incident.

A suspect or motive has not been determined at this time. The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit is actively continuing this investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information is asked to contact investigators at 410-929-0802. Callers can remain anonymous.
