Marriotts Ridge Custodian Faces Child Pornography Charges: Police

The Baltimore County Police Department has charged suspect in child porn distribution, possession.

An Owings Mills man who works in the Howard County Public School System has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

A Baltimore County detective noticed someone sharing pornographic images of children online last month and got a search warrant for a residence in the unit block of Baroness Court in Owings Mills, according to a statement from the Baltimore County Police Department.

While serving the warrant Tuesday, July 7, police found several computers and electronic devices containing child pornography, the statement said.

Police determined that Ji Yeab Kang, 27, who lived at the residence on Baroness Court, was responsible, according to the statement. Kang works as a custodian at Marriotts Ridge High School in Howard County, police reported. The school system did not immediately return a request for comment.

The Baltimore County Police Digital and Multi-Media Evidence Unit is continuing to analyze the evidence, and the Crimes Against Children unit is investigating the case.

Kang has a preliminary hearing on July 31 in Baltimore County District Court for two counts of distributing child pornography and one count of child pornography possession.
