Mass Vaccination Site To Open At The Mall In Columbia
The mass vaccination site at the mall should be up and running the week of April 26 and can administer as many as 2,000-3,000 doses per day.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A mass COVID-19 vaccination site will open the week of April 26 at the Mall in Columbia. According to Howard County Executive Calvin Ball, the Mall in Columbia has the benefit of being a central location locally and regionally with highway access off US-29, direct transit access, ample parking and sufficient space needed to administer a high volume of vaccine doses in a short period of time.
"It is encouraging that the vaccination options for County residents are expanding," Dr. Maura Rossman, Howard County Health Officer, said in a statement. "We know that many community members face barriers to receiving the vaccine and believe that this mass vaccination site placed strategically in Howard County will improve the accessibility of this life-saving vaccine for many of our most vulnerable residents."
Early estimates indicate that this location may have the capacity to administer as many as 2,000-3,000 doses per day, as supply allows, Ball noted.
