MD Couple Weds Before Friends, Family With Help Of The Internet
The couple's wedding took place in Ellicott City with fewer than 10 people present but guests across the country watching live.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Couples with weddings looming have been understandably worried about whether or not they will be able to exchange nuptials during the new coronavirus pandemic, including Nicole Terwilliger and Chris Castellano of Ellicott City. Their wedding guest list for their May 2 wedding had fewer than 250 people, so at first, they were fine when the initial restriction limited gatherings to no more than 250 people.
But then social gatherings dropped to 50, then 10. They didn't want to wait until their wedding day to contact their guests at the last minute to cancel on them. They also didn't want to be ordered to shelter in place without each other, in case such a directive was issued -- and that is exactly what happened March 30.
So on March 28, the couple exchanged their vows as they stood before their parents, the best man, the matron of honor, the priest, a photographer and a pianist. That was it.

But their guests were able to watch two lives become one because the couple cleverly livestreamed their wedding from Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ellicott City for everyone to see. While they couldn't hold their reception at Savage Mill, they celebrated instead with an appropriate-sized gathering prepared by Terwilliger's mother.
