Meet Howard County Library System's New President On HiJinx
HiJinx podcast gives listeners an informative introduction to HCLS' new President and CEO Tonya Kennon.
The most recent episode of Howard County Library System's award-winning podcast HiJinx gives residents an opportunity to learn more about the new President and CEO Tonya Kennon. In Episode 17: Coast to Coast, Ms. Kennon talks with hosts Victoria Goodman and Dennis Wood about her attraction to Howard County, her passion for community, and the HCLS initiatives she hopes to build upon.
Tonya was previously Director of Riverside Public Library in Riverside, California. A 25-year veteran of California libraries, Kennon led a dedicated team of professionals serving a community of 314,000 through
eight library locations. There she focused on community engagement and early learning, as well as workforce development and using technology to improve service delivery and enhance customer satisfaction. In the interview she talks about making the transition to HCLS and her vision for the library.
HiJinx is the winner of a 2017 MarCom Gold Award. Now in its second year, the audio program educates listeners about topics relative to upcoming HCLS events and curriculum in a conversational style that
piques interest and sparks curiosity.
