Members Needed To Serve On Howard County School Health Council
Volunteers are needed to serve on the Howard County School Health Council. The first meeting will be Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Volunteers are needed to serve on the Howard County Public School System's School Health Council. The Council promotes coordinated school health policies and programs to enhance academic achievement, health and wellness of all students by advising the superintendent, the health officer, the Board of Education, the Board of Health and the County Council in the development, implementation and assessment of comprehensive school health policies and programs.
The group also provides a forum for the community to learn about and provide input on school health/wellness initiatives and submits annual feedback to the Board of Education on the implementation of Policy 9090 Wellness Through Nutrition and Physical Activity.
The first council meeting for the 2023-2024 school year will be Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Applications and Research Lab room B8. Register online.
