National Night Out Parties Kick Off This Week In Howard County

The kick-off party for National Night Out will be this week at Long Reach High School followed by 22 neighborhood parties.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — National Night Out in Howard County will kick off Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Long Reach High School in Columbia with an additional 22 neighborhood block parties planned.

Police Chief Gregory Der, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball, Howard County Council Vice Chair Christiana Rigby, Congressman John P. Sarbanes and Kunle Adeyemo, the executive director of the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, will welcome community members to the event.

The free kick-off at Long Reach High School will feature food trucks, police and fire displays, a deejay, child-friendly activities, games, giveaways, displays from local businesses and community groups and more.

Police personnel and mascots along with partners from Maryland State Police, Howard County States Attorney’s Office, Howard County Sheriff’s Office and Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services will visit neighborhood parties throughout the county.
