Parents File For Emergency Hearing In HCPSS Redistricting
HoCo Families for Education Improvement shared that a petition for injunction and request for an emergency hearing has been filed.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Lorraine Lawrence-Whittaker and her firm has filed a petition for injunction and request for immediate emergency hearing to try and stop the redistricting of Howard County Public Schools System. According to HoCo Families for Education Improvement, the filing was made on behalf of the plaintiffs Jill Tayter and Avinash Dewani against the Board of Education of Howard County. A redistricting update and question-and-answer session with Lawrence-Whittaker will take place Jan. 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at her office at 5300 Dorsey Hall Dr., Ellicott City. She will share information with attendees about the six appeals filed with the Maryland Board of Education.
