Project Improving Stormwater Pond Shouldn't Impact Traffic In Howard County
A project designed to improve a stormwater management pond in Savage shouldn't impact traffic in the area.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A construction project designed to improve a stormwater management pond adjacent to 10000 Junction Drive in Savage has begun and, weather permitting, will be completed by July 2023.
The existing 30-inch spillway bituminous coated corrugated metal pipe will be removed and replaced with a concrete riser and two 48-inch principal spillway reinforced concrete pipes. The pond will be regraded and the embankment will be raised and reconstructed to meet current Maryland Dam Safety standards. Riprap will also be placed at the outfall and at the four storm drain inflows to reduce erosive velocities.
Signs have been posted in the area to alert residents of the project; however, this project is not expected to impact the flow of traffic.
This project is partially funded through the county’s Watershed Protection and Restoration Fund.
