A project designed to protect exposed public utilities sitting in an Ellicott City stream started Tuesday and should wrap up by mid-January.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Traffic shouldn't be affected by a utility project underway in Ellicott City. Designed to stabilized exposed public utilities at a stream crossing in a wooded area off Bending Sky Way, the project started Tuesday and should be done by mid-January, officials said.

The project is designed to provide cover and protection for the water main and sewer main exposed in the stream, county officials noted.

While traffic shouldn't be affected in the area, signs will be posted to alert drivers and people of the construction project.
