Railroad Crossing Repairs Start Nov. 28 At Howard-Baltimore County Line

A detour will be put in place while work is done on the railroad crossing at Old Frederick Road at the Howard/Baltimore County line.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — CSX Transportation will begin maintenance on the railroad crossing at Old Frederick Road at the Howard/Baltimore County line in Ellicott City starting around 9 a.m. Nov. 28.

While the crossing is closed, traffic will detour via Old Frederick Road, Johnnycake Road, Fairbrook Road, Rolling Road, US 40 and Rogers Avenue, according to Howard County officials. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. Dec. 2.

Variable message boards and signs will be posted to alert the public of the project and corresponding road closure. Additionally, a recorded message at 410-313-4400 will carry details and updates.
