Rash Of Airbag Thefts Reported In Howard County: Police

Howard County Police recovered nearly 3 dozen stolen airbags after discovering a rash of thefts that happened in the overnight July 8-9.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A rash of airbag thefts has been reported across Howard County, primarily in the Columbia area, according to police.

Early on July 9, Howard County Police responded to multiple reports of airbag thefts. Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle, which also had been stolen, and recovered 31 airbags that had been removed from vehicles. Two suspects have been arrested in the case - a 25-year-old man from Baltimore and a 15-year-old boy. The investigation is ongoing, Howard County Police said.

Vehicles that were targeted were in the areas of the 5900 block of Turnabout Lane, 6000 block of Cedar Wood Drive, 11200 block of Snowflake Court, 11300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway, 6000 block of Wild Ginger Court and 5900 block of Iron Frame Way. Howard County Police shared a video of the investigation on their Facebook page.
