Registration Now Open for Arts Council's Spring Classes

Registration has begun for Howard County Arts Council’s (HCAC) spring educational programs at the Howard County Center for the Arts (HCCA) in Ellicott City. HCAC offers classes and workshops for ages five to adult. Spring art programs, open to the public, begin the week of April 21, 2014 and range from six to eight weeks in duration.

Classes include Saturday Art Studio for ages 5–12, Mixed Media Mix-Up! for ages 10–14, and teen through adult class offerings including Intro to Drawing & Composition and Beginning & Intermediate Watercolor. Ongoing weekly drop-in sessions for drawing and painting from portrait and life models are also available.

This summer HCAC is offering a special two-day Paint It! Ellicott City Watercolor Workshop June 21 & 28 as a prelude to our annual Paint It! plein air event July 11–14.  Instructor Heather Leatherman, Paint It! Best-in-Show winner in 2012, will guide attendees through the basics of painting outdoors using watercolors. The registration fee for the Paint It! Ellicott City open paint-out will be waived for participants in the workshop.
