Richard Dean Re-Elected President of The Arc Maryland
Environmental Systems Associates owner is long time leader, volunteer and donor

Columbia resident Richard Dean has been re-elected to another one-year term as President of The Arc Maryland, a statewide organization advocating on behalf of and with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Maryland.
Dean has served as Treasurer of The Arc Maryland. He has devoted two decades of service to The Arc of Howard County, serving in leadership positions on The Arc’s Board of Directors, including as President, as well as on many committees. He was recognized by The Arc Maryland with a 2013 Certificate of Achievement Award and the 2013 Chapter Volunteer of the Year Award for his leadership at The Arc of Howard County.
Dean is owner of Environmental Systems Associates, a frequent sponsor of The Arc events and a donor to its fundraising initiatives. He is the father of a young woman served by The Arc and the stepfather of another young woman served by The Arc.

Other Howard County members of The Arc Maryland Board include Treasurer Annette Hinkle, Chief Executive Officer of The Foundation Fighting Blindness in Columbia, and Dorothy Plantz, Director of Admissions and Advising for Howard Community College. Plantz is incoming President of The Arc of Howard County’s Board of Directors.
