Richard Dean Selected President of The Arc Maryland
Columbia resident and owner of Environmental Systems Associates Richard Dean named head of state-wide advocacy organization.

Columbia resident Richard Dean has been elected President of The Arc Maryland, a statewide organization advocating on behalf of and with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Maryland.
Dean has devoted two decades of service to The Arc of Howard County, serving in leadership positions on The Arc’s Board of Directors, including as President, as well as on many committees. He was recognized by The Arc Maryland with a 2013 Certificate of Achievement Award and the 2013 Chapter Volunteer of the Year Award for his leadership at The Arc of Howard County. Dean was cited for being an “outstanding volunteer whose dedication is an inspiration to all.”
Dean is owner of Environmental Systems Associates, a frequent sponsor of The Arc events and a donor to its fundraising initiatives. He is the father of a young woman served by The Arc and the stepfather of another young woman served by The Arc.
