A project adding center turn lanes, crosswalks, bike lanes and sidewalks along Rogers Avenue will be highlighted at a Sept. 30 meeting.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — The county intends to modify Rogers Avenue between U.S. 40 and Court House Drive to provide safer access to drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists by adding center turn lanes and crosswalks, along with bike lanes and sidewalks along both sides of the road. The existing culvert also will be upgraded to meet the county's criteria to pass a 100-year storm. The project should begin in the fall of 2022 pending the county acquiring the land.

Howard County’s department of public works will hold an informational meeting on Sept. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Oella Room at Roger Carter Community Center, 3000 Milltowne Dr. in Ellicott City, to discuss the study, design and planned improvements to Rogers Avenue.

The design plans will be available for public viewing and staff members will be on hand to explain the proposed work, answer any questions and gather public comments.
