School Sidewalk Connection Project Planned For March 12
The sidewalk connection project will run along Centennial Lane Elementary School in Ellicott City.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD — The public is invited to attend an informational meeting March 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to learn more about plans for a sidewalk connection project at Centennial Lane Elementary School. The meeting will be held in the media center. The concept design will be available for public view and county public works staff members will be on hand to explain the proposed work, answer any questions and gather public comments.
The specifics of the project call for the installation of sidewalk along the eastbound lane of Frederick Road between Centennial Lane and Gray Rock Drive. The project is expected to begin fall 2020.
"Connecting important community facilities and services with sidewalks are a critical step for a truly multi-modal society," said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball in a statement. "This project will provide a full connection between Centennial Lane Elementary and the surrounding neighborhoods to the Howard County Library System’s Miller branch and the Ellicott City 50+ Center, ensuring more reliable and accessible infrastructure for our residents."
