Stream Stabilization Project To Start Next Week Along Woodland Road
A stream stabilization project along Woodland Road is expected to start next week. It shouldn't affect traffic, officials noted.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A construction project designed to stabilize sections of the stream along Woodland Road near MD 108 and Old Annapolis Road in Ellicott City should start Monday.
The project will include stabilizing sections of the stream using wood and rock structures, along with bio-engineering plantings to re-establish a more natural stream and reduce instream erosion.
Also, any area disturbed by the construction will be replanted upon completion of the project. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by summer 2024.

While the project is not expected to impact the flow of traffic in the area, the county noted, signs will be posted near the project site to advise drivers and pedestrians of the construction.
Once complete, the project will help protect the newly upgraded sewer mains from future stream erosion and prevent the migration of the stream both horizontally and vertically.
