Howard County high school sophomores can apply now through Sept. 28 for a position with the Student Climate Change Institute.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — High school sophomores are encouraged to apply for a spot with the free Student Climate Change Institute. Hosted by the Howard County Conservancy, HCPSS and the Howard County Office of Community Sustainability, participating students will hear lectures from climate experts on topics exploring how climate change can impact public health, how environmental policy is made and more.

Participants also will work with experts and fellow students to consider solutions to global climate issues and grow as ambassadors to form initiatives in schools and communities against climate change. Students will participate in eight weekly sessions during the fall and will meet monthly during the spring to implement action projects.
