Tire Slashing In Ellicott City Under Investigation

Police said that 16 tires have been slashed this week in Ellicott City.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — After the tires of 16 vehicles were slashed in Ellicott City in a matter of days, the Howard County Police Department is investigating whether the cases are related. There were two areas where the tire slashing occurred, police said.

The first case was reported in the 8100 block of Randolph Way between Monday, Jan. 15, and Tuesday, Jan. 16, police said. There were 12 tires slashed.

The second incident was reported in the 3100 block of West Springs Drive, according to police. Four tires were slashed in that case, which happened between Tuesday, Jan. 16, and Wednesday, Jan. 17, officials said.

Both tire slashing incidents took place during overnight hours, according to police, who said on Wednesday that officers were investigating whether the two were connected.
