Traffic Issues Expected Along Rogers Avenue In Ellicott City
Several storm drain inlets along Rogers Avenue from Frederick Road to Rusty Rim will be replaced, disrupting traffic in Ellicott City.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Traffic will be disrupted through late December along Rogers Avenue from Frederick Road to Rusty Rim while work is carried out to replace several storm drain inlets with larger and new inlets.
“Safely managing storm water is a critical piece of our plan to mitigate the danger of flooding in Ellicott City. The improvements to the Rogers Avenue storm drain, along with our holistic Safe and Sound plan and proposed legislation to strengthen development regulations, all work together to keep water off the street,” said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball in a statement. “By decreasing storm runoff, we are making daily progress to support the resiliency and strength of Ellicott City.”
During the project, the southbound right turn lane of Rogers Avenue at Frederick Road will be closed for approximately two weeks for the construction of the storm drain. Additionally, northbound Rogers Avenue shoulder will also close at some point during the project from approximately two weeks to allow for the installation of the inlets and storm drain. Signs will be posted near the project site to advise motorists and pedestrians of the construction and road closures.
