Volunteers Needed To Serve On HCPSS Policy Advisory Committees
Volunteers are needed to serve on Howard County Public School System's policy advisory committees. Apply by April 26.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Volunteers are needed to help the Howard County Public School System revise school system policies as members of policy advisory committees. The knowledge, experience and perspective shared by community stakeholders are used to improve the quality of HCPSS policy.
HCPSS currently seeking candidates for membership on the following 2024-2025 policy advisory committees:
- Policy 1020 Sexual Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct
- Policy 9200 Student Discipline
- Policy 9250 Weapons
- Policy 9300 Homeless Children and Youth
- Policy 9400 Student Behavior Intervention
- Policy 10030 Contests Sponsored by Outside Organizations
The committees will include at least one member representing the general resident stakeholder group. Members of these committees will attend three to four virtual meetings to discuss and make policy recommendations. Committee members are expected to participate in all committee meetings. Residents interested in participating can submit a statement of interest online by Friday, April 26. A confirmation email with additional details will be sent to the individuals selected to participate.
