What's Open, Closed For Veterans Day 2021 In Howard County

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Before the holiday season gets started with Thanksgiving later this month, Veterans Day will be observed as a federal holiday on Thursday, Nov. 11. The holiday celebrates all those who have served in the U.S. armed forces.

Below are the openings and closures to know for Veterans Day on Thursday, Nov. 11:

Closed - Howard County government offices

Closed - 50+ centers

Closed - Howard County courts

Closed - Howard County Animal Control & Shelter

Open - Regular trash, recycling, yard trim and food scrap services will be in effect.

Open - Alpha Ridge Landfill

Open - Howard County parks

Open - Gary J. Arthur, North Laurel and Roger Carter Community Centers

Open - Robinson Nature Center

Open - Baltimore & Ohio Ellicott City Station Museum

Open - Meadowbrook Athletic Complex

Open - Cedar Lane and Schooley Mill Park Activity Rooms and Kiwanis-Wallas Hall open for scheduled programs

Closed - Belmont Manor & Historic Park

Open - The Regional Transportation Agency will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

Open - The 9-1-1 Center, police and fire departments will be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Closed - Howard County Library System
