Fun fact: My background is in dance. I did modern dance and choreography. If I were born in this era, I would be a choreographer.

What’s with all the hanging dresses outside the store?: To tempt everyone to come in and spend money. My father was a retailer going way back. He always told me to put something moving out front. There is nothing more eye-catching than those clothes. It really does bring people in.

What’s behind the store’s name?: So you can ‘discover’ things you want to buy. And it’s plural so you buy more.

Describe your store: A contemporary craft gallery.

Favorite other store on Main Street:

On being different: We offer things that are unusual. Things you don’t find everywhere. Most stores are so lookalike. It’s basically boring.

Favorite item you sell?: Oh man. I’ve got a lot of favorites. I’m my own best customer.

Your store is so interesting, what’s your house like?: It’s about as cluttered as this.

On her favorite part of the job: I love to find cool, unusual things. I really do think I have a good eye for buying.

On her own energy: Whatever I love I love enthusiastically. I love sports. I love to dance. I just enjoy life and I like having fun. I think the fact that I love to have fun is reflected in my buying.
