Essex Shooting Suspect Arrested In Pennsylvania: Police

One person is in custody related to a shooting that sent a man to the hospital near Essex Monday night, police said.

ESSEX, MD — A suspect has been arrested in Pennsylvania related to the Monday night shooting of a man near Essex, police reported Tuesday afternoon. The victim was shot at 5:41 p.m. on Monday in the 500 block of Compass Road.

Police said that a 26-year-old man was inside a home on Compass Road where he had invited a friend when the friend arrived with other men he did not know, and there was a fight inside the residence, police said.

The victim was shot at least once in the upper body, and police said he was listed in fair condition at a local hospital.

Through investigation, authorities said they developed information that led them to Pennsylvania, where they arrested a suspect in the case. The suspect will reportedly be identified pending extradition to Baltimore County.
