The Arc Baltimore Honors Middle River Resident
Middle River resident Heather Edwards has been named Direct Support Employee of the Year by The Arc Baltimore.

Middle River resident Heather Edwards has been named Direct Support Employee of the Year by The Arc Baltimore.
Edwards knows that The Arc’s mission is delivered one person at a time, and in this past year she has had a profound impact on a gentleman named Anthony. She provides support to Anthony at his home, where he lives with his mother, and increasingly in the community, helping him do the things he most enjoys.
When Edwards first started working with Anthony, he was very shy and getting over the loss of his father. He did not like large crowds and did not communicate with anyone other than his mother. Now, with Edwards' encouragement and support, Anthony attends big community events. He sings and dances at church, and he is back to bowling and making new friends. Recently, Anthony’s mother joined him and Edwards on a trip to the Washington Zoo, which she described as “one of the best days of her life.”
