Boater Drowned Near Hart-Miller Island: Police

BREAKING: Police said the body was recovered Thursday.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD - A Pennsylvania man's body was recovered after more than 12 hours of searching near Hart-Miller Island, police said Thursday.

The man, a 56-year-old who was not publicly identified, had jumped into the water to free a boat anchor, according to Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police, which reported he drowned.

Fire and rescue officials were dispatched at 6:08 p.m. on Wednesday to the area off Hart-Miller Island when the man did not resurface.

The search continued into Thursday, when officials said he was found deceased.
